(ZM)<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Coating and surface types in accordance with VDA 239-100<\/strong><br\/>The coating is specified by the type of coating and the coating weight in g\/m\u00b2 for each side. Uncoated flat products are specified by specifying &#8220;UC&#8221; (Uncoated) instead of a coating type and coating weight. The usual surface type is indicated by a &#8220;U&#8221; for cold rolled, non-uncoated parts. Outer skin parts are specified by an &#8220;E&#8221;. For unaddressed hot-rolled products with no special surface finish requirements, the &#8220;U&#8221; surface type can be omitted.    <br\/><br\/><strong>Electrolytic galvanizing (EG)<\/strong><br\/>Electrolytically applied zinc coating with a zinc content of at least 99.9% by mass, which is applied galvanically as a coil coating to a suitably prepared steel surface.<br\/><br\/><strong>Hot-dip coating with zinc coating (hot-dip galvanizing, GI)<\/strong><br\/>Application of a zinc coating by immersing appropriately prepared strip in a molten bath with a zinc content of at least 99% by mass.<br\/><br\/><strong>Hot-dip coating with zinc-iron alloy coating (galvannealed, GA)<\/strong><br\/>This zinc-iron alloy coating is created by immersing appropriately prepared strip in a molten bath with a zinc content of at least<br\/>99% by mass and subsequent heat treatment. During this process, iron diffuses into the zinc layer. The resulting coating has a uniform<br\/>matt gray appearance and an iron content of usually 8 to 13% by mass.  <br\/><br\/><strong>Hot-dip coating with aluminum-silicon coating (AS)<\/strong><br\/>Application of an aluminum-silicon coating by immersing appropriately prepared strip in a molten bath consisting of aluminum and 8 to 11<br\/>mass % silicon.<br\/><br\/><strong>Hot-dip coating with zinc-magnesium coating (ZM)<\/strong><br\/>Application of a zinc-magnesium coating by immersing appropriately prepared strip in a molten zinc bath containing magnesium and<br\/>aluminum. It must not have any defects or imperfections, such as micro-shells or zinc bubbles, which lead to paint defects in the subsequent process (during painting). The other side must at least correspond to surface type &#8220;U&#8221;.
