Specific alloying elements such as chromium, nickel or molybdenum increase the performance of these steels so that they can withstand extreme stresses. The DIN EN 10083-3 standard specifies both the chemical composition and the mechanical properties of these steels in order to ensure consistently high quality for industrial applications.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-237d5358\"><h3 class=\"uagb-heading-text\">Heat treatment conditions of quenched and tempered alloy steels<\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The performance and properties of quenched and tempered alloy steels depend largely on the heat treatment. The various heat treatment conditions specified in DIN EN 10083-3 offer customized solutions for different application requirements. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-icon-list uagb-block-93442838\"><div class=\"uagb-icon-list__wrap\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-icon-list-child uagb-block-23801c05\"><span class=\"uagb-icon-list__label\"><strong>Untreated (code letter: without code letter or +U)<\/strong><br\/>In the untreated state, the steels are not further heat-treated after rolling or forging and are therefore in a raw, soft state. This condition is often selected if the components are to be machined before final heat treatment. The soft structure facilitates milling, drilling or turning and allows precise machining without heavy tool wear.  <\/span><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-icon-list-child uagb-block-0f06f4cb\"><span class=\"uagb-icon-list__label\"><strong>Treated for shear strength (code letter: +S)<\/strong><br\/>This condition is achieved by a specific heat treatment to optimize the shear strength of the material. For components that are exposed to shear stress, this condition ensures increased resistance to wear and mechanical stress. The targeted adjustment of the material hardness prevents cracks or deformation during shearing and thus improves the performance and service life of the component.  <\/span><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-icon-list-child uagb-block-89f4fe77\"><span class=\"uagb-icon-list__label\"><strong>Soft annealed (code letter: +A)<\/strong><br\/>In the soft annealed condition, the steels have a particularly high formability and are available in a structure that facilitates mechanical processing. Slow cooling after annealing reduces the hardness and homogenizes the microstructure. This condition is ideal for cold forming processes and also facilitates preparation for subsequent tempering, as the steels in the soft annealed condition have a uniform distribution of alloying elements.  <\/span><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-icon-list-child uagb-block-d6014819\"><span class=\"uagb-icon-list__label\"><strong>Quenched and tempered (code letter: +QT)<\/strong><br\/>The quenched and tempered condition is the result of a combination of hardening and tempering aimed at achieving high strength and toughness. Here, the steel is first heated and then rapidly cooled (hardened) to produce a particularly hard structure. Tempering is then carried out at moderate heat to achieve the desired toughness and reduce stresses. The quenched and tempered condition is ideal for highly stressed components such as gears, axles and drive shafts, which require both high hardness and a certain elasticity to withstand impact loads. This condition makes the alloyed heat-treated steels particularly resistant and durable.    <\/span><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-b7b59c48\"><h3 class=\"uagb-heading-text\">Possible applications and advantages of alloyed heat-treatable steels<\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alloyed heat-treatable steels that meet the requirements of DIN EN 10083-3 are used in demanding mechanical applications where a long service life and high load-bearing capacity are crucial. Their specific alloy composition enables adaptation to special requirements such as corrosion resistance, high abrasion resistance and resistance to fatigue. The selection of suitable heat treatment conditions allows the mechanical properties to be precisely adapted so that quenched and tempered alloyed steels can be used in various applications ranging from drive components and load-bearing structures to highly stressed machine components.  <br\/><br\/>Thanks to standardization and the use of special heat treatment processes, these steels meet the highest requirements in terms of reliability, strength and durability, making them indispensable in many industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-separator uagb-block-b14085db\"><div
