A characteristic feature of S235J0 is its guaranteed impact strength at lower temperatures, making it particularly suitable for applications with moderately low ambient and operating temperatures. Compared to S235JR, which guarantees its notch toughness at +20 \u00b0C, S235J0 thus offers improved impact toughness in cooler environments and minimizes the risk of brittle failure cracks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-1869a4b9\"><h4 class=\"uagb-heading-text\"><strong>Weldability<\/strong><\/h4><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>S235J0 is also very easy to weld. Common processes such as MAG, MIG, or manual arc welding can be used with little or no preheating (&lt; 100 \u00b0C). The microstructure in the heat-affected zone remains balanced, which prevents cracking and enables economical, clean welds.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-7257cd5d\"><h4 class=\"uagb-heading-text\">Areas of Application<\/h4><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>S235J0 is preferred wherever reliable toughness is required in addition to good basic strength, even at moderately low temperatures.
