Toughness at sub-zero temperatures (quality grade J2): S275J2 guarantees a minimum impact energy of 27 joules at a test temperature of -20°C. This offers designers maximum safety against brittle failure under extreme weather conditions.

Load-bearing properties: A minimum yield strength of 275 MPa applies up to a thickness of 16 mm, while in the 16 to 30 mm range, it is 265 MPa. Tensile strength falls within a reliable range of 410 to 560 MPa.

Killed steel: The material is cast in a fully killed state. This ensures a particularly homogeneous microstructure and high resistance to aging, while minimizing the risk of material inclusions.
