Jaguar Land Rover steel standards for the highest demands

In addition to German manufacturers, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR ) has also developed specific steel standards that are optimally tailored to the requirements of its vehicles. These steels offer versatile solutions for a wide range of applications in automotive production.

Standards overview

STJLR50.50.5172 – Mild Steel, Cold Rolled

The STJLR50.50.5172 standard describes a selection of high-quality cold-rolled mild steels that are available in both uncoated and galvanized versions. These materials offer an ideal combination of strength, workability and surface quality and are specially tailored to the requirements of modern applications.

Uncoated: MS0, MS1, MS2, MS3, MS4
Coated: MS0+Z, MS1+Z, MS2+Z, MS3+Z, MS4+Z

These options allow a wide range of technical and project requirements to be met flexibly and reliably.

STJLR.50.5173 – Bake Hardening Steel, Cold Rolled

The STJLR.50.5173 standard covers cold-rolled bake-hardening steels, which are available in both coated and uncoated versions. These materials are specially designed to develop additional strength through heat treatment after the coating process. This makes them ideal for applications where high load-bearing capacity and permanent dimensional stability are required.

Coated and uncoated: BH180 (+Z), BH220 (+Z), BH260 (+Z), BH300 (+Z)

Thanks to their outstanding mechanical properties and wide range of coating options, these steels offer maximum flexibility for different areas of application.

STJLR.50.5174 – High Strength Low Alloy Steel, Cold Rolled

The STJLR.50.5174 standard defines High Strength Low Alloy (HSLA) steels, which are cold-rolled and available in both coated and uncoated versions. These high-strength steels are characterized by their first-class mechanical properties and high load-bearing capacity with reduced weight, which makes them ideal for demanding applications in vehicle construction and industry.

Coated and uncoated: HSLA260 (+Z), HSLA300 (+Z), HSLA380 (+Z), HSLA420 (+Z)

With their combination of strength, formability and corrosion protection, these materials offer maximum efficiency and reliability.
