Chemical properties

The CR270LA is a cold-rolled, high-strength, low-alloy steel with a minimum yield strength of 270 MPa. Thanks to its special micro-alloying with niobium, titanium, and vanadium, this steel offers an excellent combination of high strength and good formability. This makes it an ideal choice for various applications in the automotive and mechanical engineering industries.

Applications

Safety-Relevant Reinforcement Components: Due to its higher strength compared to CR240LA, CR270LA is suitable for reinforcements in the body structure that require greater energy absorption and stiffness in a crash, for example, certain areas of the A and B-pillars, roof frames, or cross members.
More Complex Chassis Components: CR270LA can be used for certain chassis components that require both precise forming and high load-bearing capacity and rigidity.
Seat Frames and Seat Fittings with Higher Requirements: Where a lighter construction combined with increased strength is desired for the seat structure or adjustment mechanisms, CR270LA can be a suitable choice to save weight and enhance stability.
