HC300I: A high-strength isotropic steel

HC300I is a cold-rolled micro-alloyed steel in accordance with the DIN EN 10268 standard that impresses with its outstanding properties and wide range of applications. It is characterized by unparalleled strength, good formability, weldability and isotropic properties, making it a reliable and economical solution for extreme requirements in a wide range of industries.

Incomparable strength thanks to maximum tensile strength: With a minimum tensile strength of 300 MPa and a minimum elongation at break of 20%, HC300I significantly exceeds the strength values of comparable steels. This makes it the ideal choice for applications that have to withstand extreme loads, such as in building construction, civil engineering, mechanical engineering and vehicle construction.

Easy processing thanks to good formability: Despite its high strength, HC300I can be bent, drawn and punched without any problems. This enables simple and economical processing and the production of components with complex geometries. Designers can thus implement their ideas flexibly and efficiently.

Secure connections thanks to good weldability: HC300I is characterized by its good weldability. This makes it easy to join components securely and permanently, which further expands the range of applications for the material and ensures high reliability and durability of the structures.

Isotropic properties for uniform deep-drawing behavior: HC300I is an isotropic steel. This means that its properties are the same in all directions. In contrast, anisotropic steels exhibit direction-dependent properties, as the deformation during the rolling process leads to a preferred orientation of the crystallites in the material.

Isotropic steels (I)
Isotropic steels (I) are characterized by a limited value of perpendicular anisotropy (r). This means that their mechanical properties are uniform in all directions of the material. In contrast, anisotropic steels exhibit direction-dependent properties, as the deformation during the rolling process leads to a preferred orientation of the crystallites in the material.

Advantages of HC300I:

Highest strength: HC300I offers the highest strength of the isotropic steels presented here.
Reliability: HC300I offers high strength, weldability and isotropy, ensuring safe and durable constructions.
Good weldability: HC260I is easy to weld, which enables components to be joined securely and permanently.
Restricted value of the perpendicular anisotropy (r): HC260I is characterized by a limited value of perpendicular anisotropy (r). These steels have direction-dependent properties, as the deformation during the rolling process leads to a preferred orientation of the crystallites in the material.

Summary
HC300I is a robust and versatile cold-rolled micro-alloyed isotropic steel with a unique combination of high strength, good formability, weldability and isotropic properties. It is the optimal choice for applications that require maximum safety, load-bearing capacity and uniform deep-drawing behavior and offers a reliable and economical solution for demanding projects.

HC300I+ZE: Electrolytically galvanized

The cold-rolled micro-alloyed HC300I steel offers a wide range of applications in the metalworking industry. A notable feature of this steel is its ability to be electrolytically galvanized, which significantly increases its flexibility and versatility. Electrolytic galvanizing can give HC300I steel a uniform zinc coating, which not only improves its corrosion resistance but also extends its service life. This property opens up new possibilities for the use of HC300I in various industrial applications where both strength and corrosion protection are crucial.
